"User did not grant permission" error

I’ve been trying to flash a new micro SD card and I keep getting error seen below. I’ve tried upgrading to latest version for win10 1.7.9, I’ve tried running in admin mode, I’ve tried the portable version and I’ve tried the starting Balena via cmd (I’ve read a few forums posts). I haven’t been able to find any issues with my antivirus, but I don’t see how that could be the cause (happend to one person in another thread). Incredibly frustrating as the error is too generic.

What I’m trying to do is to flash MyCroft AI for my RPI 4.

Any help would be appreciated.

PS. I encountered this issue when I tried re-flashing another SD card over six months ago with no luck using an older version. I gave up on trying to solve it then.

did you get the prompt for your admin password, or it just fails before that?
Next to your antivirus do you have windows defender disabled?

Hello, just following up per my colleague’s previous message. Were you given a prompt for your admin password, or did it fail before any such prompt was given? Also you have any anti-virus programs running/enabled?

Thanks for trying to help! I haven’t worked on this project since I wrote my question; my mum passed away the day after…

I’ve tried using Balena normally and “run as admin”, never been prompted to type in a password. They only promt I get is the one I’ve attached.
