Hifiberry DAC Plus - Light Compatibility

Hello!

First of all, I love your guys’ products, and have been having lots of fun messing around with all of your offerings!

That being said, I’m unable to get any sound coming through my hifiberry DAC Plus -Light, which is connected to my Raspberry Pi 4. I’m able to successfully my phone via bluetooth to the Pi, and when I plug an aux cord directly into the Pi (without the HifiBerry), the sounds works as expected. So, I was curious to see if the dtoverlay value of “hifiberry-dacplus” included the “Light” version of the product (https://www.amazon.com/HiFiBerry-DAC-Light/dp/B016YY693C/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=hifiberry+dac&qid=1585597530&sr=8-7)
Or if there needs to be another dtoverlay value added to the list of config values in order to use the Light version.

Below is my current setup and logs, please let me know if you need any additional info or have any questions.

Board: Raspberry Pi 4
balenaOS version: 2.47.1+rev1 (I realize this is a slightly older version, but I was having bluetooth connectivity issues when using the current OS version, so I downgraded. It seems to have fixed my bluetooth issue)
balenaSound version: latest (v2.0.4)
DAC: HifiBerry DAC+ Light
Multi-room is disabled.

Thank you so much in advance!

Hi @ttrichar thanks for the compliments and for giving the project a try! I don’t know exactly which one will work with the Lite version of this HAT but you have a few options available (incidentally, you can see these by looking in the overlays folder on the SD card): hifiberry-amp,hifiberry-dac,hifiberry-dacplus,hifiberry-digi-pro,hifiberry-digi. I would guess that hifiberry-dac is probably the one you need for this HAT.

If you try it and it works out it would be appreciated if you could PR the settings to our DAC compatibility list here: https://github.com/balenalabs/balena-sound/blob/master/DAC_configuration.md

Hope this helps!
