Same problem with my Windows 7 installation.
Solution:
I installed an old portable version balenaEtcher-Portable-1.5.28-x64.exe
Worked OK since. All I wanted is to burn an eMMC card for an SBC.

I tried today the latest version on my 2 win7 pc’s with ESU updates. Both failed to start.
I also test the same version on a win11 pc. it works.

Same issue with Win7x64 machine and both portable and install latest version 1.10.2. Unplugged all usb drives but still only got a blank white box. I just found and tried to launch v.1.10.6 but had the same result - blank white box. No USB drives attached. Windows Events log shows this data:

To clarify a bit while we’re working on it :
I tested 1.10.6 on ubuntu 18, 20 and 22 and it works as it should.
Latest known working version for win 7 is : 1.7.9.
Newer version won’t work on win7 due to dependency on nodejs 14 (which drops support for win7).
@eisolson what version did you tried ?
I used 1.10.2 - the default download when I went to https://www.balena.io/etcher/.
I was in a rush - did google send me to the wrong site?

Same here - I updated the Balena Etcher version to the one available at balenaEtcher - Flash OS images to SD cards & USB drives for Windows and it just displays a blank screen.
Running windows 7.
Any ideas?
I tried to download a previous version but cannot find any oficial one online.

The latest 1.18.11 opens a completely blank window (just the window frame, and all white background inside) on Windows 7 64-bit Home, even though it installs without any errors or warnings. Really weird, never seen anything like this kind of an issue with any other application.
If it is not supposed to install / run on Win-7, the installation should warn and refuse to proceed.
What is the latest version that was supposed to be Win-7-compatible?
Downgrading to 1.5.56 brings up a working application.
