I used balenaEtcher last year to flash this image to SDcard (USB): ev3-micropython-v2.0.0-sd-card-image.img. It worked well. Trying to reinstall new version this year now I get the attached error message: “Something went wrong. If it is a compressed image, please check that the archive is not corrupted…retry.” I’m now using v1.4.45.
I’m now using v1.5.45.

Hi, please could you let me know what version of Etcher you are using?
Thanks,
Phil
Hi, its Version 1.5.103, download yesterday.
The solution is to disable SIP. Afterwards it worked without any problems.
Great! Thanks for letting us know.
Here’s the error I get:

Thanks for your help!
…also I’m using macOS 10.15.5
Hi @jfrancismccormick,
the problem you mentioned seems to be related to this issue: https://github.com/balena-io/etcher/issues/2843
If this still gives you the problem, I would suggest trying with sudo /Applications/balenaEtcher.app/Contents/MacOS/balenaEtcher
as described in the above issue.
If this does not work and if not already tried, you can try the above solution suggested which is to disable the SIP (System Integrity Protection) as described here https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/mac/how-turn-off-mac-os-x-system-integrity-protection-rootless-3638975/
That was it. I turned off the SIP and it worked. Thanks! Joseph
