I’ve noticed that my LoRaWAN gateway (raspi Pi + Rak Hat) only shows ‘online’ on the TTN console when the gateway either sends or receives data. Is there a ‘heartbeat’ function whereby the gateway can ping the TTN to show that its online even if it hasn’t sent or received packets for a while?
I remember that this used to happen on TTN v2, that the backend was saying that the gateway was offline until received a message. I think that this is dependant on the websockets session management of the TTN backend. I didn’t experience this on TTS v3, but honestly i didn’t invest a lot of time checking the status on the backend as it was working properly.
Maybe it’s a good question to ask in the TTN forums to see if anyone have an answer?
