No working files on USB after flashing Linux USB on Mac Ventura

Hi team,
The belenaEtcher app works perfectly but my 8Gb US 2.0 drive always winds up with a tiny amount of files despite pointing a working (In VirtualBox) Kali ISO (4.08Gb) to it.
Followed the instructions to Erase the USB as MS-DOS (FAT-32) and GUID, but mounts after success as a Master Boot Record volume with 918Kb capacity used and 10Kb free.

Have you tried recovering the USB drive using the methods listed here?: Etcher broke my USB stick … or did it?

It didn’t break the USB stick. Running those scripts modified the file structure, but it just got an error when trying to mount the drive post-Etching and failed, multiple times. Must be Mac OS.
