Etcher somehow unplugged my USB after getting to around 60%

Im trying to install a distro of linux on a 4GB USB drive where the .iso file is 3.8GB, whenever i try to flash the OS onto the USB etcher claims that my USB drive has been unplugged even though i havent and a windows prompt comes up saying that the drive has become unrecognised and i have to replug it in. Once i replug the drive in it no longer allows me to put stuff in it but instead asks my to connect a CD to it instead. I have tried to do this twice on the same USB but to no avail. Below are the errors i get.

can someone help me out with this?

Hi @grin, sorry for the delayed reply. Just out of curiosity, what happens if you try flashing a different image to the drive? Does that complete?

Alternatively, what happens if you flash the image file to a different USB stick?

Ultimately I am trying to narrow down if the issue is the drive, or, the file itself. Thanks!
