Need help understanding this error

OS: Windows 10
Etcher version: 1.4.4 , x64
Tried to flash Linux Mint Cinnamon 18.3 using Etcher on an empty 8gb USB flashdrive. This error always occurs. Screenshots in the links: https://postimg.cc/image/l27v89nuz/

Can someone help me understand what this error means and what I’m doing wrong?

Hi @para – What the error literary means is “What I’ve written the to USB device, is not the same as what I’ve read back”

Generally this would happen if the USB flashdrive has some hardware flaw, or if there’s another process modifying it as it’s being written too. Best guess, try another device
