Jetson Orin NX production

Balena presently has support for the Jetson Orin NX development kit. We are migrating our production computers from the Jetson Xavier NX production to the Jetson Orin NX production. Do you have any plans to support a production version of the Jetson Orin NX?

Hello @dwmicksch first of all apologizes for the long delay answering here! Not sure if you also requested for support in other balena channels.

We do support some production Jetson Orin NX carrier boards. Do you have any specific requirements? Could you please share more?

Thanks

The only option I see for Orin NX is “Nvidia Jetson Orin NX 16GB in Xavier NX Devkit NVME”. Why does it show “Devkit” in the name? Is there another that I should be using?

When I follow the instructions and try to boot to a brand new 256GB NVME I placed in the device I get the attached error screen and cannot go forward. The device I am trying to us is the Nexcom 3540.

Hi @dwmicksch,

We have two Orin NX carrier boards supported now. It’s sometimes not totally clear in our list, but these are the ones you’re looking for:

We are also hoping to add one of the Connect Tech Orin NX devices soon. Would any of those meet the criteria you had for a production carrier board?

Why is the Balena device called “Nvidia Jetson Orin NX 16GB in Xavier NX Devkit NVME”? This implies to me that this supports the developer kit and not a carrier board. To confirm, this is what I should be using for the carrier boards?

@dwmicksch that device-type is indeed for the DevKit. The boards I listed above are listed with the names you see there, and are separate from the Xavier NX DevKit.
