IAQ reading help BalenaSense

Hi guys,

First post, first project and so far so good. I’ve had my Pi up and running for around a day and just wanted to compare the output to see if any of you have had a similar experience. I know the Bosch sensor takes a bit of time to calibrate and normalise however I’m seeing really poor IAQ and can’t figure out why.

For the record I have not been on the sprouts / broccoli so it’s not a methane problem!

Here’s a link to my sensor output for the last 24 hours:

Initially I had my pi inside a Hat case which I’d modified so it would all fit nicely inside, the fan draws air out from the case and I’d put holes in for the BME620 sensor, with the idea being that fresh air would be drawn in over the sensor and stop the close proximity of the mainboard affecting it so much - check this out here https://photos.app.goo.gl/XcLPAY5jaXxvSSzL9

I have since changed it again and put the sensor on long jumper wires as you will see from the second picture so the sensor is well away from the Pi, just until I figure out these readings.

Hi

Can you try putting your setup elsewhere - perhaps a little outdoors, or even by an open window - and check if the readings change?

I am thinking this is perhaps an issue with lack of airflow.

I’ve moved my rig into a hallway and the IAQ seems to have come down significantly, thanks for eth response!
