GPS / Timesync issues witha RAK831 + HAT (Raspi P3b)

Folks,

I’m running a v3 The Things RAK831 + GPS HAT on a Raspi P3b but in the logs I see a lot of;

07.05.21 14:26:28 (+0200) 2021-05-07 12:26:28.022 [SYN:ERRO] Repeated excessive clock drifts between MCU/SX130X#0 (3 retries): -3.6ppm (threshold 2.4ppm)
07.05.21 14:26:31 (+0200) 2021-05-07 12:26:31.173 [SYN:ERRO] Repeated excessive clock drifts between MCU/SX130X#0 (6 retries): -2.7ppm (threshold 2.4ppm)
07.05.21 14:26:32 (+0200) 2021-05-07 12:26:32.223 [SYN:INFO] Time sync qualities: min=61 q90=79 max=104 (previous q90=100)
07.05.21 14:26:32 (+0200) 2021-05-07 12:26:32.223 [SYN:INFO] MCU/SX130X drift stats: min: -1.4ppm q50: -2.4ppm q80: -3.0ppm max: -5.2ppm - threshold q90: -3.8ppm

Should I worry?

Hi

I don’t think it’s something to worry about.
I was looking at a related github issue, and one of the developers there has written a nice explanation here

It should be noted that good MCU/SX1301 clock synchronization is not a strict requirement for Station to function properly.
