Etcher Fails to start- Blank Screen

have run Etcher for years without problems. Now suddenly the application fails to start and hangs on a blank screen. This is a WIN 7 SP1 computer.
If i uninstall and reinstall etcher it will run one or more times until the application is closed and relanuched, then it will fail.
portable application does the same thing, and will not launch at all. hangs on blank screen. I seen

others have had the same issue, but I see no real solution for it being shown anywhere.
Any assistance is useful

Hi,

That is strange. Can you help with the following for us to dive deeper:

  • Windows version and the Etcher version you are running
  • Etcher logs: Once you launch Etcher as administrator; you can look at more detailed logs via DevTools by pressing Ctrl+Shift+I.

Share the above information with us and we can check as to what might be causing this.

Its WIN 7 Pro SP1 64 bit.

If I uninstall and reinstall it will run as long as its kept open. If closed, its back to blank screen.
