Hi, sorry to hear you are having trouble with Etcher. Could you please open the development console by pressing Ctrl + Shift + I and paste its contents when the error occurs?

Ughh…what development console? There is no response from the system when the Etcher is launched with a double-click on the AppImage file. The only sign that it even ran a little code is the error that’s readable using dmesg.

I booted MX-21.1_x64 Wildflower from a Live USB memory, mounted the MX-18 installed-to-hardrive system’s partition and double-clicked on the AppImage file. It ran normally and successfully flashed an image to an SD card.

The problem has always been an incompatibility with MX-18 (which just reached its EOL so maybe you don’t care) but, as a result, I’ve continued to use dd and I’m not ready to install new OS to this machine yet, despite its EOL!

Relevant logging output, if any, is available from the console of DevTools, which you can open by pressing Ctrl+Shift+I or Cmd+Alt+I depending on your platform. So if you are on Windows for example, and have Etcher open, just press Ctrl+Shift+i

As I stated, I’m not on Windoze and Etcher doesn’t open. It crashes. No process! MX-Linux does not use systemd. It uses sysV init. There might be log somewhere other than what is reported by dmesg.
