Unable to flash to MicrosSD

Hi - I am trying to flash the Wyse2 camera image onto a 128Gb Micro SD card (formatted in FAT32) in order to resurrect a NEOS Smart cam. I am using Etcher V.2.1.2 (downloaded yesterday) on WIn10. I can select the file, select the drive, and then click Flash. It starts, I get a Windows Command window asking if the application wants to change to change , then the process falls over with the message “something went wrong. If it is a compressed image, please check that the archive is not corrupted. Connection to etcher-util failed”. I’ve uninstalled, then re-installed Etcher and I’ve re-downloaded the Wyse2 file. I’ve also tried another Micro SD card. Same issue. Any help gratefully received.

Hello, can you provide a link to the Wyse2 image you are trying to flash? Also, if it’s a zipped/compressed image, can you try unzipping it first before flashing and see if you get the same message?

Hi Alan and thanks for replying. In fact (my bad), it isn’t a Wyse2 image, its taking a Wyse2 compatible cam and flashing it with Thingino. The link to the page is thingino-installers/wyze-cam-2 at main · wltechblog/thingino-installers · GitHub and the zipped download is at the top of the page (wyze-cam-2-sd.zip)

Hi @Saul, I was able to flash that file using Etcher 2.1.2 on Windows 10 after first unzipping the “wyze-cam-2-sd.zip” file and selecting the resulting img file directly.

Well, I don’t know where it’s going wrong - I’m doing what you’re doing…

I ended up downloading Rufus which did the job in seconds.
