Every single time it keeps saying the iso is corrupted or encrypted and the flashing fails. Happens on opensuse, mx linux, endeavouros.
Ive spent HOURS checking each usb drive for bad blocks (0 bad blocks, they are perfect working condition). I tested every usb port, I redownloaded every ISO and checked the sha256 hashes, everything checks out perfectly fine.
I booted windows and tried rufus, worked no issues what so ever. I also used DD command on linux terminal, works just fine. So the problem is YOUR shit software. The whole reason I want to use the software, is to save time. I just want to take 5 seconds, click one button and walk away. This software has cost me over 2 hours in wasted time. I should be compensated for this waste of my time. It is inexcusable. This software takes more time, and is less easy or simple, than using the fucking DD terminal command, that is astonishing. How can you even have the audacity to sell a “pro” version for money? Unbelievable.
We’re always grateful to receive feedback, whether good or bad, as it helps us to make better products for our users. Something we’re very keen to do! However, creating the user name ‘etcherisshit’ and communicating in a disrespectful manner isn’t the most constructive way to put your thoughts across.
We’re really sorry that using etcher was frustrating and didn’t give you the results you wanted. We can guarantee that there’s things that we could improve. What would be helpful is if we could understand your setup so we can potentially avoid other users encountering the same problems you did. Would you be happy to share more details?
To address your point about a pro version of etcher, we’ve never charged and never will charge for etcher. The confusion here is that Etcher Pro is a physical device we built and sold that allowed for multiple devices to be flashed at once. This is now discontinued as we made the decision to no longer pursue hardware and focus on the software route. Etcher is and always will be a free open source tool.
Again, we’re really happy when users take the time to contribute to our forums, it’s really important to us. However, going forward please consider this is a community space and try to contribute in a way that is beneficial to everyone.
