Sometimes it works not, gives error. strangely after computer went to sleep and after a few hours, I thought of trying it again, it worked… weird though, as there was nothing changed in either the software or the hardware it ran from, nor the installation or the usb hardware that held the sdcard, nothing, except time…
Weird I find this.
Hi, depending on the OS, there are a number of external factors that could impact the result of a flash. On windows for example there’s the possibility of the OS writing additional data in the small time frame that etcher switches from flashing to validating, invalidating the checksum on the source that we then perform. The media reader used could also bear different results and the target itself, if it’s defective or worn-out for example, could lead to issues.
@Thundron, no man, it was all working fine first, then it did not work, so I tried on two different pc’s, one even currently freshened OS, (it starts up in like 5 seconds, very fast) and the usb dongle that holds the SSD card reader where the actual small ssd card fits in, worked earlier before, it was brand new.
So, mybe a glitch here or there, because the RaspberryPi Imager finished the job then…
The only positive Balena has is it can search for image files. (Not that it is not a positive program, but it is more an advantage over Imager from RPI)
Hope I see these messages never again.
Thanks for message…
