Lenovo ThinkEdge SE70 is a Nvidia Jetson Xavier NX SOM device that contains an eMMC. The spec can be found here in the Specifications tab:

The device is similar to the Nvidia Jetson Xavier NX Devkit eMMC device that Balena already supports so the effort shouldn’t be too great: balenaOS - Run Docker containers on embedded IoT devices

Are there any plans to port BalenaOS to the Lenovo SE70?

Thanks for reaching out!

We haven’t had any requests to support the ThinkEdge SE70 just yet, but if you know of interested customers, we’d certainly be interested in discussing it further. The two costs involved are:

  1. the hardware itself; at minimum we need one to add to our fleet for automated OS release testing (in the future we want to open source that tooling so any manufacturer could use it and avoid sending us hardware, but we’re not quite ready for it to be used by others just yet… I’d love to keep in touch about it if you’re interested though!)

  2. the fees for making the board compatible with balenaOS (free to you if you do it yourself; the process to add it is here), and the fees for the ongoing testing and maintenance effort (fees described here)

If you or your customer are interested in moving forward, please do let us know. We’d love to have the device in our list of compatible hardware, and are open to co-marketing efforts as well. :slight_smile:
