Repository Unsigned, Again

I had the same problem approx 1 week ago
I updated to the Cloudsmith etc etc, and all was good
Until this afternoon.

E: Failed to fetch https://dl.cloudsmith.io/public/balena/etcher/deb/linuxmint/dists/ulyssa/InRelease 402 Payment Required [IP: 13.226.108.113 443]
E: The repository ‘https://dl.cloudsmith.io/public/balena/etcher/deb/linuxmint ulyssa InRelease’ is no longer signed.
N: Updating from such a repository can’t be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.

Do I need to be using another app ?

Hello,
I can confirm that I am getting a 402 as well when pinging the URL https://dl.cloudsmith.io/public/balena/etcher/setup.deb.sh. I have informed the Etcher team and they are looking into it. Thanks for reporting this.

Due to lack of response from this forum, I have applied the update from HERE
AGAIN.

This appears to have resolved the problem

Hi @condobloke

Glad to hear that your problem has been resolved.

Just a current status update on this investigation in case anyone else is following this thread: we have hit some rate limits from Cloudsmith, and we are addressing this to make sure the problem is resolved.

Kind regards
Alida

I went to update my debian 11 this morning and I again got the message of payment required referencing cloudsmith. Sigh I like the etcher program and have used it several times but have major mistrust issues when a pay flag shows up in my system update sessions. I heard you had problems with cloudsmith and you got it fixed but I am telling you as of 5/8/2023 they still are demanding payment.

Hi, we no longer use Cloudsmith for hosting the Debian packages. I suggest removing Cloudsmith from your sources list and download the official packages from our Github releases page here: Releases · balena-io/etcher · GitHub
