I use Raspberry Pi 3 and I have noticed that removing previously set RESIN_HOST_CONFIG_hdmi_mode / RESIN_HOST_CONFIG_hdmi_group variables does not revert video mode back to default 1920x1080. I believe it’s a bug.

Yes, you’re right that sounds like a bug. I think the issue is this one here: https://github.com/resin-io/resin-supervisor/issues/450
I’ll inquire with our dev team and see if there has been any progress on the issue.

The latest update is that a fix is in the works but is being delayed by a larger refactor of the supervisor to deliver a feature. Hopefully it should be released in the next few weeks.
