Provisioning a board for a customer who will have their own Balena Cloud account

Is it possible to flash our boards in such a way they will appear on a customer’s Balena Cloud account. If I use the website to download an image and use that to flash a board, it will be associated with my fleet.

Or is there a way via the cloud to transfer devices from my fleet to someone else’s fleet?

Note this question relates to a balena flasher image (which flashes balena to an emmc).

Hi @chrisruk , two general options:

  1. Use a single fleet that both you and your customer have access to. Thus no moving required.
  2. Use Move device to another Fleet. But note that this will purge the app & volumes (if any) that were present on the device and then download / install the app & volumes from the target fleet. Also, you will need access to both fleets.

Regarding “Use a single fleet that both you and your customer have access to. Thus no moving required” - does that mean sharing an account? Could you explain how to do that?

Edit: I think I understand how to do that now, by adding members to my fleet.

I can see there is a transfer fleet ownership which looks good too, and can now see that I don’t need admin rights on the other account, just developer access.

Hi @chrisruk, you are correct on both counts. FYI, option #1 is more popular among our customers, but either can work.
