Project: Smack - Send SMS and calls to Slack.

Hi,

Balena helped me fix a problem I had last year.

Me and my wife were travelling in South East Asia last year and we both received huge bills for some mysterious roaming data usage of our mobile phones in the past. The reason why we even used our Swiss SIMs abroad were a couple of services in Switzerland that required two factor authentication via SMS. I was finally fed up with this and decided to build a little SMS to Slack device (a Raspberry PI with a SIM7600E-H 4G HAT) before our last trip.

It’s super simple, it just pings me and my wife on Slack if we receive an SMS or a phone call. I deployed this at my parents house and was even able to deploy some bug fixes (full SMS storage :see_no_evil:) thanks to Balena. It has been working flawlessly over the past 9 months and has proven super useful for us and I just open sourced it! You can find the code and a couple of pictures on Github: https://github.com/livioso/smack.

Thanks Balena!
