The error looks like there is a character not expected on the certificate. Can you check the code where you introduced the logs? Could you please share with me a screenshot with the environment variables
?
OK so the line that is sanitising TC_TRUST in start_common.sh is what is causing the error parsing the PEM
With this removed I am back to where I was with connections failing…
OK this problem was because it needs to be connecting to thethings.industries not thethings.network it appears. I am connected again!
Hi,
i just want to migrate my Gateway from v2 to v3 , but it dosnt stop to ask for an GW_KEY . But in V3 Version i should use the TC_KEY.
Dose some one have a Idea why it dosn’t use the TTN_STACK_VERSION Variable ?
Thanks for your Input
Marcel

I setup a Gateway yesterday with a pi4/rak 2245
everything seemed to be working last night and the logging was loading but i then went to TTN console but it showed disconnected.
Ive tried to ammend today but unfortunately ive done something and tried so many variations it time to wave the white flag as it is now saying
loading and then says no logs yet. HELP…what have i done
@2bods1dream thanks for your message! welcome to the balena community!
What packet forwarder are you using on your gateway? The basicstation? If not, which one are you using?
Did you try to move your gateway to TTS v3? We have a video where we explain how to do it [here] (IoT Happy Hour #49: Migrating TTN Gateways From V2 to V3 with balena - YouTube) if you are using the basicstation.
Thank for your reply.
I followed your video and setup a basicstation on TTN V3.
In the end it was the wrong address it was pointing too, I changed that and the Pi connected and was Online but then disconnected due to a Firewall error (No VPN) so I swap my ethernet cable over to my VPN router and now I am only getting a heartbeat not recieved (Online (VPN only).
If you could point me in the right direction that would be great (my router too )
Do i need to change setting in my router for it to connect and be online?
@2bods1dream could you please send me a screenshot of your device variables? Thanks!
@2bods1dream delete TC_URI
variable please.
I’ve done that mate and give her a reboot but still in ONLINE (VPN only) heartbeat not recieved.
On the logs I’m getting
Firewall mode not applied due to error
That’s odd. Actually if the variable TC_URI
doesn’t exist it’s autogenerated with the other variables. Check this line basicstation/start_common.sh at 560f6e47c3405ec1a5658bded8ea09419fc9f825 · balenalabs/basicstation · GitHub
Try it and send me the logs and screenshots if you get the device disconnected please.
@2bods1dream could you please grant me support access? thanks!
Absolutely. I’ve just granted support access what do you need for me?
Send me a private message with the ID of your device or just copy and paste your URL
Did this work on your side @2bods1dream ?
