OK so the original image boots up and connects to balenacloud :slight_smile:

There’s definitely some kind of problem as the USB keyboard isn’t working at all.

Guessing maybe the USB bus isn’t working but I’m not sure.

Do you see that USB keyboard works OK on your Plus 2 ?

As I figure anything out about what’s going on I will post here :slight_smile:

Thank you for the check!

On my board USB works fine.

So for USB to work on Orange Pi Plus2E it needs its specific dtb, as you said it worked when you replaced the dtb.

Yeah but I think it then stopped working when I booted from eMMC. Give me a sec and I will double check

Ok so it’s as I thought

With the modified .dtb you sent over…

  • Booting from the uSD the USB keyboard works.
  • Then it switches off as you said
  • Then booting from the eMMC the USB keyboard does not work.

This is repeatable.

I am wondering if somehow the original .dtb is being used in the eMMC partition?

Yes @ajlennon, the original dtb is contained in the archive that is flashed to the eMMC.

So after flashing the original dtb is used and it explains why is USB is not working again.

So the best approach would be to first flash and then overwrite the dtb if you want USB to work.

Hi again!

Making good progress here porting my layers from the RPi v3B+ I was using to the Orange Pi.

However I don’t seem to have the WiFI driver?

Is this a known issue? Or finger trouble on my part maybe?

(I’ve had WiFi going with other images such as the Debian/Ubuntu ones)
