it says flash failed. When i open the usb it shows only efi. I tried mintos from

.It then unmounted the usb. I used a sandisk 8gb usb

Hi there, could you open up the etcher dev console (I think that can be done with ctrl+shift+i in windows after a flashing failure, and see if there are any error messages. Also, What version of etcher are you using. Thanks!

Looking at the logs, we see this error:

What jumps to me is USB device’s description: VendorCo ProductCode USB Device. Searching for it, I found another user posting the same issue with a similar error message here: Flash Failed! error · Issue #3499 · balena-io/etcher · GitHub
Searching online further, I found claims that VendorCo’s USB sticks are not as advertised (e.g. the storage size is actually smaller) and they tend to be low quality. For instance: Redirecting
While I don’t know if these claims are true or not, I’d suggest you to re-try flashing your image on another USB stick.
