Created debian live with etcher and it used whole stick. Worked fine but no persistence. Debian says needs ext4 partition called persistence for persistence. Plenty of room on stick so shrunk etcher partition and created persistence partition intending to format it. Now displays basic grub menu and can’t get past to boot.
After much research it turns out there is no way to add a partition. Etcher grabs the whole stick and won’t let go. You can have debian live but not persistence.
