Persistence boots

new to Etcher. Is there persistence for Ubuntu boots? I am using an SD card.
It works good in Ubuntu live sessions but I need persistence…

btw the file I need to put in persistence file is a wifi driver…any info on that?

Hey @229 welcome to the forums!

Etcher is an image flasher so doesn’t offer the facility within itself to help you do that, but what you can do is edit the image to include your driver and then flash it, but it might be easier for you to use a tool that has the persistence options built in.

what would you recommend? I am doing Xubuntu and want the Broadcom
wifi driver to stay in my boot SD card.

@229 if I understand you problem correctly, you need something like https://help.ubuntu.com/community/mkusb .
It will flash the xubuntu iso on your sd card, make it bootable and add a persistent storage partition.

is Etcher going to be able to do this soon?
Is there a way to edit the Ubuntu kernel to do it??

I do not think that is currently on our development roadmap. The goal of etcher is to reliably flash images to SD or edge devices. Setting up boot configurations is a different story. Once you have created an image using mkusb or the likes you can use etcher to flash it…
