How Long Should Etcher take to create a bootable USB?

I’m using balenaEtcher (latest version) to create a bootable USB (SanDisk USB3 32GB) for LinuxMint but, it appears to run but then just appears to hang, continuing to say “Starting”.

Is this normal and will it just stay that way until it is finished? (Windows 11) Task Manager shows it’s not doing anything. Does it need to be started in Admin mode to work?

The Mint.iso is on a network drive. Does this have an impact?

What should I try or expect, please?

I was just editing the source from the console to upload when I decided to copy the .ISO to a local drive and run balenaEtcher as admin - and it seems to be working…

…so far!

Yes, running balenaEtcher as Admin is recommended. Also, running the ISO from a network drive can cause issues copy it to your local drive first. If Task Manager shows no activity, it likely hung. Try local ISO + Admin mode and re-run.
