Coral Dev Board fan not running

I’m running v2.48.+rev5, and I’ve just noticed that the fan is not running (heatsink is now quite hot). Coral build starts the fan from boot, should it be on or perhaps it is temp controlled?

Hi @gavin67890,

I see that Coral does suggest getting help from places like Stack Overflow, so it’s worth sharing a post from there that seems to discuss this from the hardware perspective, which I think is a good place to start.

I don’t have a Coral board here to test, so please let us know if you’re not able to check using the commands and locations mentioned in that post, like using cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp to check the temperature of the board. I know my RPi 4 runs quite hot, enough that it hurts to hold it, so it’s not impossible that this is still in a safe range, but definitely good to check, both for safety reasons and to ensure you’re not damaging the board long-term.

Let us know what you find!
