I saw your issue and have a few follow-up questions:

  • Have you checked if you can boot using the device? If something just went wrong during verification, there’s still a chance the write was successful.
  • Is this something you can reproduce with different images and devices?
  • What version of balenaEtcher are you using?

I’ve been struggling with this error for more time than I care to admit.

I finally found a list of things to try. What finally allowed the app to work is adding the app to the Windows Firewall.
