balena-labs-projects/wifi-repeater

Hello. If this has already been answered elsewhere I apologize. I am currently trying to set up a PI-4B with 2GB ram as a wifi repeater/access point and am using balena os and the wifi-repeater project. When I flash my sd card with balena os my device is recognized on the balena dashboard and shows green. My Pi is connected to a touchscreen and it displays the balena logo. I then added variables for my home router and password. Still no problem. When I then use the cli to push the wifi-repeater project to the Pi the Pi disconnects from the dashboard. Re-booting the Pi does not cure it. The Pi is connected to my home network as I am able to connect to it with my phone and even my desktop pc, but it passes no internet. I’m pretty sure this is a Pi configuration issue as my home internet is fine, but I have not been able to find the answer as yet.

After trying again from scratch I found that booting up with balena os causes the device to be shown on the dashboard in color green for a few moments followed by it turning blue and updating. Once it reaches 100% updated it stays blue and continues showing “updating”. Refreshing the dashboard doesn’t help. I tried connecting to the Pi without the wifi-repeater software installed and it connects but doesn’t pass wifi through. I’m wondering if the wifi-repeater software is maybe not being pushed to the Pi. On one attempt I found that adding variables caused the Pi to display orange and show that it was running in a limited mode. Shortly after it disconnected. I guess I will try once again and use all the exact names and entries that are in the document online and see if I can get it up and running. If all else fails I may try a RPI-3B that I have.
