Restart device: `Request error: [object Object]`

Hi,
Using the “Restart” button from the dashboard returns the following error:
image
Looking in the Devtool’s Network tab, I get the following response for the HTTP request:

{"status":"failed","message":"No delay specified in scheduledApply"}

balenaOS 2.52.7+rev1, supervisor 11.9.4

I noticed the same issue on other devices too, without investigating too much.
Let me know if you need support access for the device.

Hi @edorgeville – thanks very much for letting us know about this. If you could share a device with support, that would be great. Can you also let us know if it’s okay for us to (attempt to) restart it? I want to make sure that if we do end up being able to restart it, this will not cause problems for you.

All the best,
Hugh

Granted support access, feel free to restart and reboot. Thanks!

Hi there – just wanted to let you know that we’re seeing the same behaviour on this device. Interestingly, a reboot does work, but the Request error: [object Object] message still keeps showing up when I click “Restart”. We’ll keep digging into this and will keep you posted.

All the best,
Hugh

Hi @edorgeville – I’m not certain, but I believe this may be a bug in our supervisor. We’re tracking that at https://github.com/balena-io/balena-supervisor/issues/1398. The supervisor team will be able to take a look at this on Monday.

Thanks very kindly for reporting this to us. Feel free to follow along with that issue, and we will also update this thread when it’s resolved.

All the best,
Hugh
