When I tried to flash os.img to my sd card it doesn’t work. After fully completing the process, like 10 popups appeared that my drive is not flashed. But it is! Can someone help? Also, if you didn’t understand my weird explanation, please watch this video of the problem. nebra support - YouTube I will be extremely grateful for every tip. Thank you very much in advance.
Hi,
Let’s unpack your video.
The first pop-up about inserting a SD card, is because you had the drive open in Explorer and then it got unmounted for flashing; completely normal behavior.
The second series of pop-ups, about formatting the disks are also completely normal under Windows.
When you flash your SD card, it will create a bunch of Linux partitions that Windows doesn’t understand, but will try to read anyways. Because it doesn’t understand the filesystem, Windows will assume you did something wrong and suggest formatting it.
You should ignore these, there’s nothing wrong with the SD card.
There should be one FAT partition that Windows does understand, it will be named something like resin-boot. On that partition, you should be able to find your device configuration.
Finally, you said “you plugged it in, and it didn’t work”.
For this part, we will need a lot more details; like which device are you using, what image are you flashing, which application should it load, etc.
Judging from the filename, I’m assuming you’re doing something with Nebra Helium; I personally have no experience with that, but I assume the process is pretty much the same as for Raspberry Pi’s.
Maybe this thread can be relevant to you.
Hello, You don’t even know how much I appreciate your reply. You are one of the only good souls out there, that tried to answer me. Anyways let’s get to the problem. I was flashing os Image to rock pi 4 c. The model of the Helium Miner is Nebra Rock Pi. I was trying to install a new os, because the previous one had a problem. Thank you so much for taking your time with me.
Hi,
Do you have any more details on what steps you took and how you determined it to “not work”?
Which image did you try?
How did you connect your device?
What did and didn’t you see?
Did you check the official troubleshooting guide?
If I understand correctly, the Nebra miner is basically a ROCK Pi with a HAT, so you might be able to see some output on the ROCK Pi’s UART.
Does it come online when you try one of the generic ROCK images, rather than the Nebra specific image?
You may want to read through the ROCK Pi Getting Started guide. At least to me it seems more informative than the Nebra site.
A quick look at the downloads shows only an image for the 4B, but you can always build your own.
In the radxa layer, it looks like the 4C should be supported.
