Hi, I installed BalenaCloud onto a Raspberrypi3+ successfully. From the online dashboard all seems good, but when I play a song on my phone and connect via airplay, I dont get sound on my amplifier. I tested the cable which was fine. What am I doing wrong?
Hi
- Do other methods of playing sound work? Have you tried Bluetooth? If no other methods are working, that might tell us something.
- I am assuming that you are able to see the device successfully in the AirPlay menu, and then when you connect to it and play it, the song isn’t paused but you can’t hear it. Is that right? I am trying to understand if there are issue with the connection or if your phone is successfully streaming the data?
- Can you grant support access to your device? Once you have done that, you can share the UUID of the device with me as a private message
Hi, thanks for the response. To answer your questions, yes I did try Bluetooth and it still didn’t work. And yes to question two, that is exactly the issue.
How do I grant support access?
Ok, I granted support access, now I just need to know where to find the UUID
how do i send a private message?
4864fa57fe7fb21112081021b978e528 is the device UUID
Hi,
To send a private message you have to click on a users icon and click on message.
Hi,
Could you please describe to me your HW setup? How do you connect your amplifier with the RPI? I can see errors in your application logs that look like this: Can't open default:CARD=vc4hdmi PCM device: No such device
and you are using an overlay vc4-kms-v3d
, which I’m not familiar with. Maybe if you can tell me exactly how you connect it, we can try to replicate the setup.
I’m just using a 3.5mm stereo jack from the Raspberry Pi to the aux input on the amp
Hi,
Could you try to remove the vc4-kms-v3d
dtoverlay setting on the device. It seems like this overlay adds an ALSA card vc4hdmi
that is not working.
I deleted the vc4-kms-v3d overlay. That seemed to do the trick.
One last question, how do i change the WiFi login if i move the device to a different location?
Hey @Erich1 , assuming it’s the same device and you’re not flashing a new one, you can add a new network profile on your device. You’ll find more information on how to do that here
Regards,
Hi,
Were you able to successfully adjust wifi credentials for moving the device? Please let us know if there’s anything we might do from our end.
Best regards,
John
