Existing images only support L4T 32.7.x which depends on the now deprecated Ubuntu 18.04 version
This is really holding back our xavier fleet! Cant use deepstream 6.2
Alexandru-Dorian Costache: Hi, we currently don’t support a balenaOS update to include L4T 35.X directly for the Xavier AGX, NX eMMC or NX SD because the jump from L4T 32.7 to 35.X implies a bootloader change as well as a partition layout change, and this use-case is not supported by balenaHUP.
We are working on a Migrator solution, which will be expanded to also handle these larger L4T jumps, but we can’t offer a timeline right now.
Thanks
We also need to move to DeepStream 6.2.
Wondering if any new development on BalenaOS has changed the possibility of getting 35.1 on xavier NX? Any word on the mitigator solution?
Any updates on this?
We are very pleased with Balena and the tools that it offers. However we are dead in the water now as we are using DeepStream to build our computer vision applications. Nvidia keeps moving forward with new features that we can’t touch, including their newly announced 7.0. Is Balena ever going to L4T 32.7+?
Alexandru-Dorian Costache: Hi David, is your question for a Xavier AGX or Xavier NX? If so, would Jetpack 5 - L4T 35.4.1 suit your needs?
Alexandru-Dorian Costache: Hi Alfred, we’ve been working on the migration solution. Would you be interested in beta-testing it?
Dear @Alexandru. I would be very interested in testing. Are you also able to provide balena OS L4T 35.5.0 since there is already an official yocto tegra layer: GitHub - OE4T/meta-tegra at scarthgap-l4t-r35.x GitHub - OE4T/meta-tegra at scarthgap-l4t-r35.x and see here: Yocto Support for NVIDIA Jetson Platforms - Setting up Yocto
