Failed service - Bluetooth: hci0: CSR: Unbranded CSR clone detected; adding workarounds...

I have BalenaSound deployed through the balenacloud one-click to my Raspberry Pi 3 and I’m having trouble setting it up with a USB Bluetooth dongle. The Bluetooth service is not coming online, it stays at an ‘Exited’ status, and running the command dmesg in the terminal shows this message:

Bluetooth: hci0: CSR: Unbranded CSR clone detected; adding workarounds…

Does this simply mean my Bluetooth dongle is incompatible?

Hi there, I know it’s been a while but were you able to figure out? The error message Unbranded CSR clone detected indicates the kernel thinks the dongle is fake (actual features are not what’s advertised), so this dongle most likely is not supported in balenaOS. Here is a relatively cheap bluetooth dongle that I’ve used to great success: https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Bluetooth-Receiver-Controllers-UB400/dp/B07V1SZCY6/ref=sr_1_7

Let me know if we can help in any way.
