I’m wanting to change an older Mac (OS 10.11.6 El Capitan) to Linux. The version of Etcher listed on downloads will not work with this OS. Where do I find a compatible version?

Balena Etcher has dropped support for macOS 10.11, so the latest builds will not run on El Capitan. The last version that works is Etcher v1.5.116, which still supports older macOS releases. You can find it in the Balena Etcher GitHub releases by scrolling down to older tags and downloading the macOS dmg for that version. Many users on the Balena forums recommend this approach for legacy Macs.
