Part of Enable secure boot and full disk encryption for all device types · Balena Feature Requests, but as that progresses one type at a time, here’s the request for Compulab IOT-GATE-iMX8 devices.
There are now iot-gate-imx8-sb and iot-gate-imx8plus-sb private device types that include secure boot and disk encryption support. If you are interested in testing this feature contact Balena and we’ll make it possible.
For those curious, there are NXP i.MX specific details about the implementation at GitHub - balena-os/meta-balena-hab: Support for i.MX HAB secure boot and disk encryption.
The support still needs to be properly productised before it is made available on balenaCloud.
