After reboot only kernel boot but nothing else e.g. SSH, Docker containers

Hi,

Some of our devices went down after a reboot initiated using dbus.

  • BalenaOS: v2.67.3+rev2
  • Device type: nano-jn30b

What we see:

  • Using console we can see the kernel is booting
  • The 4G modem inside receives an IP address but no ports are opened so SSH is not possible
  • Using cable connection we don’t get an IP
  • The storage is not full, found by downloading the resin-data partition from the device

We have no idea what we still can check or how to get in the device.

  • Some ideas what could be checked?
  • Can we backup other partitions and how to check if something went wrong there?
  • Can development mode be enabled by flashing boot partition again?
