But seeing as this is a new device type it would help us out a lot if you could try to connect via ethernet if it continues to fail. That way we will be able to remotely investigate if anything is missing to better support the device
Ok, still not connecting. I will try tonigh with ethernet I’ll keep you informed of any progress
thanks o/
Works fine with ethernet. Device is now online
Hi. Can you keep eth connected and enable support access for the device so we can take a look into it?
It’s connected and you should have access
Thanks. So the Up Squared does not have built-in WiFi. Are you using the standard Up Squared from AAEON or is it a modified hardware? Or have you connected the wifi chipset over usb?
I’ve already used this same Up Squared with standard Ubuntu 16.04 and wifi was working fine
Thanks for sharing that this Up Squared + WiFi worked well with standard Ubuntu 16.04. It’s useful to know it. I think the reason why Florin asked about the hardware interface (no built-in WiFi: modified hardware? WiFi over USB?) is that it would help us know what to look for in terms of missing driver or firmware, in balenaOS, or whether it is a different issue. Let us know if you know the answers regarding the hardware interface. Thanks again!
Indeed, according to the official doc (https://www.aaeon.com/en/p/iot-gateway-maker-boards-up-squared) there is no built-in wifi. So it’s possible that I’m using a modified hardware. I’ll ask AAEON to have more information about that
okay, thanks, please keep us posted!
