Sound Supervisor Not Connecting PI Zero W

Hey @u53r-0x539 … I’m wondering if you have a hardware issue going on. I noticed this from the log:

[  395.735077] udevd[36]: error opening ATTR{/sys/devices/platform/soc/soc:sound/sound/card0/pcmC0D0p/id} for writing: Permission denied
[  395.804863] udevd[39]: error opening ATTR{/sys/devices/platform/soc/soc:sound/sound/card0/controlC0/id} for writing: Permission denied

pinging some colleagues to see if they might know.

I’m also wondering if it would be a good idea to look at the health of the device? After clicking on the device in the dashboard, go to “diagnostics” and “run checks”. Maybe report back what it says? Also, under the tab “Device diagnostics” if you could run them and attach the output.

I’ll add another few items to help us troubleshoot:

  • What version of balenaOS is the Pi0 running? You can check that on the balenaCloud dashboard
  • Can you go to http://DEVICE_IP/support on your browser and share the output? Replace DEVICE_IP with the actual local ip address of your device which you can also get from the dashboard.
