We are running a touchscreen kiosk on BalenaOS. When a new release is available, the browser might restart while in use. It would be nice to have an update strategy, that downloads the new release, waits for a reboot and then starts the new version.
Felipe Lalanne: Have you tried using update locks? Those should help you prevent any services from getting killed by an update, but it won’t prevent the download of the new images. Once you are ready to reboot, you can override the lock and trigger a reboot.
That looks like it could work. Will try it, thank you! Still, a respective update strategy would make it way easier but this is a good workaround for now.
We also need reboot upon update completion, please add me to the voters list.
