Do I need to register my device as an IOT device after adding it to an APP in balena

I flashed an upgraded Balena OS to a device and after the boot process, a new device got registered. But then, this device stopped sending data to the teletype (ttyS1).
Does this device need to be registered as an IOT device?

What kind of device is it? What are you expecting on ttyS1 ?
