@Langhalsdino you’re getting 401 when you curl but the Supervisor still logs 504 error ? Check out the thread David linked which seems to have some suggestions (updating to versions with a fix).

Sorry for keeping you waiting that long. So the reason for the faulty behaviour is, that i misconfigured my open-balena-vpn instance. I got confused with old and new certs, keys, … for the open-vpn such that they are correct on their own, but don`t fit together. I am still not sure, how the devices could be showing as online, eventhough the vpn is not working correctly. Anyhow i am really happy that i solved it and once more thank your for your great support.
If anyone else is stumbling across this topic:
just create a new fresh open vpn config with the quickstart script and test if this solves your problem. It did for me.
