i have downloaded the etcher file four times, each time i try to open it by double clicking, all i get are the files it contains. how do i actually execute the file to create a bootable usb

For Windows you can download “Etcher for Windows (x86|x64) (Installer)” from the Etcher home page. https://etcher.balena.io/ It’s an exe setup file.
I am using linux mint.the download went ok, the issue was, there is no where to execute the program, there is no ..run.. command
You can download the latest .deb package from this page: Releases · balena-io/etcher · GitHub (scroll down to the “latest” tag; v2.1.4 as of this writing)

i downloaded the file as you said,the terminal says …unsupported…
so thanks, if this is what we are to get, selling this package to people is poor. ill find some other package to do the same job.. you made to process far to complicated.
