1.7.9 returns error about sandbox on kubuntu 22.04

installed etcher 1.7.9 from the repository on kubuntu 22.04…

1st off got an error in installing about unable to find file or directory upon a chmod of “/opt/balena-etcher-electron/chrome-sandbox” yet the program is installed in the “/opt/balenaEtcher” directory.

upon running the program the system indicates that it is starting then it just stops running. using the command from the menu’s launcher I then get the following error
The futex facility returned an unexpected error code:

/opt/balenaEtcher/balena-etcher-electron: line 10: 49330 Aborted “${script_dir}”/balena-etcher-electron.bin “$@” --no-sandbox

Hi @beyil the error you shared looks like it could be related to this issue, and this issue which is still open. Is the thread on #3129 helpful to you?

The futex error is really strange, do you try to run it from a special terminal (like inside vscode, or wsl)?
