Kernel Panic in new hardware

Hey there,

I’m working on getting Resin 2.12.5 working on a new device, the compulab imx7 gateway. Im getting a kernel panic at startup and it looks like it’s coming from Balena. I have aufs ported to the device, if i do overlay2 i get the same message.

Here is the git project: GitHub - syncromatics/resin-compulab at feature/update-version

Here is the logs from the failed startup:

Hi, implicit storage driver is aufs, so if you intend on using aufs, this line can be removed: https://github.com/syncromatics/resin-compulab/blob/feature/update-version/layers/meta-resin-compulab/conf/samples/local.conf.sample#L4

BALENA_STORAGE is only needed when yuo want to use “overlay2”

Having said that, it is recommended to use overlay2 instead of aufs.
When using overlay2, do you see any warnings when configuring the kernel? does it complain about not being able to enable certain kernel configs?

Let me reconfigure and I’ll post the boot for overlay2 here

EDIT: This is the overlay2 attempt

The only complaint for kernel configs is

You should be using the kernel with the embedded resin initramfs instead:
