Reading through this post: Executing commands on host
User @izavits talks about a future “feature” called hostapps, where users can modify the HostOS just as they would with their containers and env vars. Is there a version in the works that includes this feature?
Usecase:
The intended usecase for this feature is to execute run commands at boot/reboot that will enter our desired iptable rules. These commands will help us lock down our devices on our network. In the event that they go down and insist on rebooting, we would prefer not to re-enter the commands, or put our devices at risk.
Questions:
- Is there a version in the works that includes this type of feature?
- Are there other ways to make iptables commands persistent upon reboot?
Thanks!
