For RPi’s that i am using like embedded devices, i like to configure them with the overlay filesystem, so they are immune to “just switiching them off”, instead of a proper shutdown. Is there a best practice on how to do it with BalenaOS & balenasound on a (i.e.) RPi 4?

balenaOS is already optimised to avoid issues when the power is pulled by having a read-only filesystem. There is always going to be some risk with SD cards, but there shouldn’t be any reason with a balenaSound on balenaOS setup that you would require any further action as balenaSound does very little writing to disk. Unless you have some specific setup that you think may require it?
