Is there a place to download the MD5 checksum (or other checksum) of BalenaOS?

Hi, as balenaCloud configures images on the fly, md5 checksums would be confusing and are not currently provided.

We have had several instances that a downloaded balena OS was corrupted, so the flashing went ok, the validation went ok, but the device wouldn’t connect, or it would connect but disconnect while downloading the app images.

This gets fixed by removing the cached image and downloading it again, so everything points to this image being corrupted, but without a checksum it’s hard to tell. Is there a way to verify the image before flashing?

Hi, at the moment no, there’s no checksum to verify the download. There’s one main reason we haven’t got around it yet: the image is generated (injecting configuration) as you request it. So there’s no single hashtag for one image.
