# OpenTelemetry for IoT Metrics

Hi @ajlennon , I saw you created a Prometheus node-exporter [block](https://github.com/DynamicDevices/prometheus-exporter), and thought you might be interested in this OpenTelemetry (OTel) block as well. This block actually includes two services – the OTel Collector as well as a Prometheus node-exporter. The project [README](https://github.com/balena-io-experimental/otel-collector-device-prom#readme) describes how to use the collector with Grafana Cloud, but any Prometheus backend should work.

Notice the block includes an OTel receiver for Docker stats, which should be helpful.
